History
The renewed Karaköy waterfront brings cruise arrivals, restored historic buildings, food and culture together along a 1.2-kilometre stretch of shoreline.
The project combines shipping, culture, shops and hospitality along a 1.2-kilometre frontage. Its relationship with the surrounding neighbourhood matters as much as the terminal itself: this is a changing urban waterfront, not an Ottoman monument preserved in isolation.

Behind the landmark
Its cruise terminal sits underground. This unusual arrangement keeps much of the waterfront available as a public promenade, rather than placing a large terminal above it.
Putting terminal functions underground changes what a passenger sees at the surface. The waterfront can be read as a promenade and a port at the same time, bringing leisure and working infrastructure into one place.

What to look for from the water
Compare the low modern buildings, pedestrian spaces and historic Tophane surroundings. A private boat or excursion does not automatically use the international cruise terminal; your meeting point is confirmed for your programme.
